Before prison, I had overdosed three times in just six months. My life was in chaos, and I felt hopeless. But God, in His grace, gave me a new beginning through the Genesis House. It’s not just a program—it’s truly God’s house, a place where I found healing, direction, and a safe space to realign my heart with His will. Through Genesis, I’ve been able to stay clean, begin making reparations to the wreckage of my past, and live a purpose-driven life helping others like me. What was once my mess is now a message of experience, strength, and hope for others. We are truly a family here—lifting each other up, walking in faith, and serving God by serving His children. I’m so thankful for Genesis and all God has done through it. It’s where my life was restored, and my purpose was revealed.

I came to Genesis House after doing eight months in rehab. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived, but I knew God placed me here without a doubt. I got a job, found a sponsor, and began doing the work in recovery. With the help of the girls in the house, I began to adjust to the real world. Together, as a family, we’ve laughed, we’ve cried – it’s been more like a recovery sisterhood, which is amazing! There is never any judgement, just a group of women working together to heal. God shows up daily with the littlest things that make me smile. I have found peace and love for myself through forgiveness. Genesis House and my recovery program have made me a better person. I am truly grateful for the experience and committed to supporting others by paying it forward.
