Genesis Recovery, Inc is a 501(c)(3) Florida non-profit
A sober-living home is a peer-managed home that helps individuals maintain sobriety, usually after completing a treatment program. These residences provide a supportive environment where residents can live together, share experiences, and hold each other accountable for their recovery. The primary goal is to create a safe space that encourages sobriety and helps residents reintegrate into society while avoiding triggers associated with substance abuse.
After completing a treatment program for substance use disorder where you have been in a controlled environment, it is common to feel uneasy about what to expect when you return home. You may not yet trust yourself to resist the old triggers of drug use and alcohol use. A recovery environment provides a safe and productive place to transition from a residential treatment center to a traditional living environment. It is an opportunity to live among like-minded people in recovery, who share their experience, strength, and hope with one another. By deciding to receive after-treatment care in a recovery home, you are taking measures to prevent a relapse from happening.
There is no minimum, but stays are generally limited to one year. Residents should be focused on preparing for their return to the outside world. There are many people desperate for recovery, and a place to recover, and beds are always in demand. Our goal is to help as many people as we can.
Resident fees are $150 per week. Reasonable accommodations can be made for new residents that do not yet have employment.
No. Children and pets are not allowed to live at Genesis House. There are sober-living homes which do allow them. Do not let this discourage you from continuing to look for the right home for you.
